The second spot is occupied by Dr. Dre. Although last year he declared himself to be the first billionaire in hip-hop after his eponymous headphone line was sold to Apple, his 25% stake left him with a $500 million windfall after taxes. Jay-Z who just launched music streaming site Tidal rounds up the top 3 with $550 million.
Cash Money’s Birdman who is fighting to keep the label’s biggest star Lil Wayne sits at the fifth position with $150 million. He is ranked behind 50 Cent who continues to earn big buck from Vitaminwater pushing his total income to $155 million.
