19 gorillas to be named during the 13th Kwita Izina This year on 1st September 2017, Rwanda will conduct the 13th Kwita Izina, where 19 gorillas will be named at Kinigi in Musanze District.

Since 2005 when Kwita Izina was first introduced by Rwanda Development Board, over 238 mountain baby gorillas have been named during an annual event that involves celebrating nature and giving back to communities. The event is expected to bring together thousands of Rwandans, friends of Rwanda and celebrities to Kinigi at the foothills of the Volcanoes National Park.
