{President Barack Obama’s special assistant was arrested on Friday after shooting at her boyfriend – a police officer – with his gun.}
Barvetta Singletary called her boyfriend to her Maryland home for sex, then confronted him over seeing another woman, the Daily Mail online reported.
They stepped out of her house and went to his car before Singletary demanded the officer give his cellphone passwords, to which he declined.
An argument ensued and Singletary grabbed a bag containing the boyfriend’s two phones and his gun, a .40 caliber Glock 23 service weapon.
The warrant of arrest indicate the 37-year-old ran back to her house with the officer chasing after her, before she pointed the gun at him saying, “You taught me how to use this. Don’t think I won’t use it.”
Singletary then fired once in the boyfriend’s direction, causing him to flee and call the police.
She was charged with domestic violence and released after posting $75,000 (Sh7.5 million) bond on Monday.
Singletary has since been denied access to the White House after being relieved of her duties.
