Nyaruguru Youth donate to Genocide survivors

The youth who gave the donations came from a group dubbed “Association les Fraternels Zirikana”.

The President of the association, Kabahuza Bernard, said that the action was for Genocide survivors to know that they were not alone and they were still remembered.

“In these 100 days that are a homage to those we lost during the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis, we also called to do something to those who survived, so to show them that they are not alone and that they should not lose hope for a better future.” Kabahuza said

Beneficiaries welcomed the donation. “Although I no longer have children of my own, this is not the first kind gesture that young people did for me. I thank God that the country has such considerate beings. This gesture gives us hope,” said Kankindi Esperance, one of the beneficiaries.

The Vice-President of IBUKA in Nyaruguru District, Ndagijimana Emmanuel, thanked the youth for the donation and encouraged them to keep it up.
