{{After a one-week training, banana farmers in Nyamirambo Sector in Nyarugenge District have been asked to implement what they learnt and scale up banana production in the area.}}
The training was conducted by Rwanda Agriculture Board.
While speaking at the official launch of program aiming to improve banana plantation in Nyarugenge District, Mukasonga Solange, the Mayor of the District has said the decision was taken after finding that residents heavily depend on banana production.
“Through the program we want our farmers be more productive by increasing banana harvests” Mukasonga said.
The launched program will be extended to other sectors of the District including, Kigali, Kanyinya and Mageragere Sector.
Speaking to IGIHE one of the farmers, Mukantwari Beatrice hailed the impacts of training.
She noted that she will be able to protect her banana plantation from being affected by crop diseases.
