Residents of Nyanza District on November 21 started a three-day training on Gender Based Violence (GBV).
Participants, all members of Community Policing Committees (CPCs) as well as those from Ant-GBV clubs were drawn from Rwabicuma and Busasamana sectors.
The training was organized by Rwanda National Police (RNP) and funded by care International.
The training which focuses at enhancing anti-GBV awareness is set to benefit 2319 people from 75 sectors in the Southern province.
During the three-day training, participants will be taken through lessons such as types of GBV, its causes and consequences, and how to prevent it.
Officiating at the opening ceremony, Alphonse Munyentwari, the Governor of Southern Province lauded Rwanda National Police for organizing the training.
