{Police in Nyanza district, on November 15, arrested a man identified as Jean Nepo Habintwari, 30, suspected of stealing a motorcycle.}
The suspect was arrested by a police officer in Cyeru cell of Kibirizi sector after he was intercepted riding a motorcycle that did not bear number plate.
It was later found out that the motorcycle was stolen in Nyamagana cell, Ruhango sector of Ruhango district.
The suspect is currently held and at Busoro Police Station while investigations continue to identify the owner of the motorcycle.
“Motorcycles and cars always bear registration numbers before being used for any purposes. Those lacking required papers and registration number are target for thieves and must be reported immediately,” Nyanza District Police Commander (DPC), Chief Inspector of Police (CIP), David Nkundimana, said.
CIP Nkundimana commended residents in the area for providing information which he said contributed to the arrest of the suspected thief and seizure of the motorcycle.
He urged the residents to continue working with Police and other security organs to prevent crimes from happening.
