Norway Court Sentences Rwandan 21 years in Prison

Prosecutors in Norway sought for Sadi Bugingo 47, a Rwandan Genocidal to serve 21 years in jail for his role in the massacre of more than 2,000 people during Rwanda’s 1994 genocide.

The prosecution called for the sentence against Mr. Bugingo as it presented its final arguments to an Oslo court in Norway’s first genocide trial.

The defendant is alleged to have taken part in meetings, ordered others to execute the killings and supervised killings, the prosecutors said in statements broadcast online.

Bugingo has denied the charges. The defence is expected to make its closing statement later this week at Oslo District Court.
