The head COTEMU, Védaste Bagabo, observed that such an exercise brings them closer to the police adding that it should be made a periodic activity.
He appealed to the members of the cooperative to always abide by traffic rules and regulations as well as report people, who are involved in unlawful activities or try to use them in their illegal dealings like drug traffickers and smugglers.
Inspector of Police (IP) Alexandre Minani, the District Community Liaison Officer of Ngororero, urged all those who attended to distance themselves from all sorts of crimes, report those involved while concentrating on their development activities.
He outlined drug abuse, domestic and gender based violence as some of the issues that requires immediate attention, urging them to always inform police whenever they notice such.
“If each one of you commits to this course, no doubt wrongdoers will not have a place in your communities,” he noted.
He urged motorcyclists to give value to their business profession by valuing their lives and those of their passengers.
Riding carelessly and without helmet, he said, they will be putting their lives at risk.
