Ngoma: Seized narcotic drugs destroyed

{At least forty-five kilogrammes of cannabis and about 350 litres of crude gin commonly known as Kanyanga seized in separate police operations in Kayonza District have been destroyed in a public exercise that also focused on raising awareness and joining efforts to fight the vice.}

The public destruction exercise witnessed by residents, local leaders and security organs was held on January 6 in Kibungo Sector.

The mayor of Ngoma Aphrodis Nambaje, who presided over the exercise, lauded the role of the residents in fighting criminality and trafficking, making, and consuming drugs.

He appealed to leaders to work with the people in their areas of responsibility to create a bond that gives no room for drug dealers to continue operating their criminal businesses.

The District Police Commander, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Janvier Mutaganda, said that “police will not relent until unlawful traders give-up or arrested.”

He asked them to report all suspected wrongdoers to facilitate investigations and arrest.

The particularly thanked commercial motorcyclists whom he said that they have been also instrumental in reporting drug dealers who attempt to use their means of transport to traffic narcotic drugs.

    Bravo to our Mayor Nambaje to tell us dangers of drugs abuse, after destroying here in our sector kibungo, we thank also Rwandan Police for having conducted these operations to identify the drug dealers! we citizen we shall continue to share with Police and our leaders the information about the criminals
