{Residents of Ngoma District have been called upon to spearhead policing activities in their communities and always information in real time on anyone suspected to be doing illegal or criminal activities.}
The call was made last week by the District Police Commander, Senior Supt. Janvier Mutaganda, while addressing hundreds of residents in a community security meeting in Rukumberi Sector.
He warned them against indulging in unlawful businesses such as trafficking of narcotics and distilling illicit substances.
He noted that individuals involved in illegal activities are sometimes known by members of the community, and urged them to report such elements.
“Do not allow wrongdoers to interfere with your wellbeing; if anybody is known to be involved in malpractices, report them to the nearest police,” he said.
The District vice mayor in charge of economic development, Jean Marie Vianney Rwiririza, asked residents to embrace all government development programs which are aimed at improving their socio-economic wellbeing.
