Vulnerable survivors of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi are set to receive aid (special incentive fund) every month unlike the past where they received the support on a quarterly basis.
Beneficiaries have been getting monthly alms of Rwf 7,500 but, according to the FARG executive secretary Ruberangeyo Théophile, many vulnerable genocide survivors requested to receive the aid every month, which has been accepted will be implemented from January 2016.
FARG and the ministry of local government have agreed to deliver the fund in accordance with the will of beneficiaries.
Vulnerable Genocide survivors are divided into two categories where the most vulnerable receive Rwf 30,000 while others receive Rwf 7,500 per month, including genocide widows, disabled genocide survivors and others living with chronicle ailments.
