The State Broadcasting agency ORINFOR has launched a new radio channel dubbed Magic FM which will be dominated by entertainment.
Magic FM was officially joined the airwaves september 24 targeting the youth.
The radio will broadcast celebrity news, sports, programs relevant to married couples and many other programs attractive to young people.
Willy Rukundo the head of ORINFOR said the decision to launch a new radio station comes after assessments indicating that about 60% of the population are youth, “That’s one of the facts to establish a youth channel.”
At the beginning, programs of “Magic FM” will be starting from 14h: 00 PM till 24:00PM.
The broadcasts will use three Easter African languages, namely Kinyarwanda, English and Swahili.
The radio frequency is 104.7 FM. The call inn programs are free of charge.
