New Kigali mayor briefs

{Mukaruliza Monique becomes the 3rd woman to lead Kigali city since 1996. She was the first minister of East African Community (MINEAC) Affairs.}

Mukaruliza started responsibilities as MINEAC minister in 2008 up to 25th February 2013 over some hitches for which she apologized.

Before she was appointed in MINEAC, Mukaruliza had been a representative of African Union in Sudan.

She also played a role in the formation of and subsequent reforms in Rwanda Revenue Authority when she was a commissioner. She is experienced in banking services.

She also worked in the administration of various institutions including Bank of Kigali, Village d’Enfants SOS Kinderdolf International-Rwanda and International Transport Society.

Mukaruliza has recently been the coordinator of Northern Corridor Projects connecting regional countries of Rwanda, Uganda and kenya. She will be leading Kigali city for a five year term, renewable once.
