Netherlands pledges investment promotion in Rwanda

{The Prime Minister, Anastase Murekezi yesterday received Netherland’s ambassador in Rwanda, Frédérique de Man, with whom they held talks on bilateral relations and investment promotion in Rwanda.}

Netherlands and Rwanda already do cooperate in various sectors especially in the judicial sector.

The ambassador told the press that she discussed with Murekezi issues of promoting investment and cooperation between investment institutions from both Netherlands and Rwanda.

“We have talked on investment opportunities among Rwandan and Netherland’s institutions. The prime minister wished more institutions for Netherland to bring investments to Rwanda which we try to mobilize among investors as an embassy,” she said.

The permanent secretary in the prime minister’s office, Kampeta Pitchette Sayinzoga highlighted that both countries have agreed to promote investment.

“They have agreed that both countries are going to concentrate efforts in investment especially seeking how Netherlands’ investors can come to Rwanda and how to promote cooperatives,” she said.

Kampeta said that Rwanda wished Netherlands’ businessmen to invest in Rwanda to in agriculture, agro-processing and tea growing.

Justice is among main sectors where Netherlands provide support to Rwanda besides other government institutions, non-governmental organizations in various activities promoting justice.

Netherlands supported the building of Nyanza high court and digitizing Gacaca files as a way of preserving history of the 1994 genocide against Tutsi.
