National Univeristy of Rwanda ranked 40th best in Africa

{{The National University of Rwanda has been listed on the 40th position of the top 100 Universities and colleges in Africa.}}

Sixteen South African universities have been enlisted making the SADC economic powerhouse with most universities on the list.

All the first top five universities on the list are from South Africa including; University of Cape Town(1st), University of South Africa (2nd), University of Pretoria(3rd), Universiteit Stellenbosch (4th ) and University of the Witwatersrand on the 5th position.

In the east African Region, University of Dar es Salaam ranks highest placed on sixth position of the best 100 universities on the continent. The Hubert Kairuki Memorial University also from Tanzania is ranked 98th on the list.

Makerere University of Uganda is ranked 10th on the list. However, Uganda remains the favourable destination for quality education in the region with more than 40 universities.

The University of Nairobi is placed on the 17th position on the list making it the third best in East Africa.

Kenya is the only EAC member state with more universities enlisted on the continents top 100 including; Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (56th), Kenyatta University (61st) , United States International University(77th ), Egerton University (80th) and Moi University (85th ).

Egypt has more than 11 univerisities on the list with Cairo University ranked 7th of the top 100 universities on the continent.

No university from Burundi has made it to the list.

Nigeria has five universities enlisted including University of Ibadan (23rd) ,Obafemi Awolowo University (31st), University of Lagos (35th), Ahmadu Bello University(54th),University of Ilorin(58th), University of Benin(71st),University of Jos (95th) and University of Maiduguri (96th).

The 100th university on the list is Modern Sciences and Arts University from Egypt.
