The Voluntary national service is expected to be launched today Tuesday.
Derived from Rwanda’s ancient custom, the national service programme (Urugerero) will see Rwandans, that have undergone informal civic education programme helping in realising several developmental initiatives.
According to Boniface Rucagu, the launch of the programme is scheduled to take place in Kigarama Sector, Rwamagana District and will draw about 40,730 Intore that were trained.
Awareness campaign on dangers of HIV/Aids, conducting a mini census of illiterate people and constructing houses for teachers will be done as part of activities to be conducted at the launch.
Rucagu said, “We sensitise the public about the zero new HIV infections, while all districts are expected to come up with their programmes.”
