Women in Musanze district have been urged to report cases of domestic violence committed by their husbands.
The Mayor of Musanze District Musanze Mpembyemungu encourgaded the women to standup against such forms of violence.
“Some women in Musanze do not report such cases fearing retaliation from their husbands”.
Mpembyemungu said most of dishonored women present emotional feelings favoring their husbands when it comes to the matter of reporting.
She said women should change such behavior and fight for the rights.
Seraphine Flavia from National Women Council said women should take the lead in raising their voices against domestic violence adding that if they don’t report it will be difficult to get solutions.
“Really we do have problems of domestic violence; women have the ability to solve such problems by providing timely information on such cases so as to help to the handling process”.
