{Women fruit vendors in Musanze town have registered their disappointment over relocation from the town center to a rural Nkandagiro market in Cyabararika cell of Muhoza sector, five kilometers away from Musanze town.}
The market, women say, is located in a distant rural setting where few clients can access which they think will bog down their incomes.
“Much as we know that vending on the streets creates chaos, it is so unfair dumping us five kilometers from the town center. Who will walk five kilometers just to buy fruits? Isn’t this a one way of sending us into unemployment? Who will support our families? We can’t get clients in Nkandagiro market since it is far from the town,” lamented Nyirahageninka Laurence, one of the affected fruit vendors.
The mayor of Musanze district, Musabyimana Jean Claude says they will discuss with the vendors on the best way forward.
