Musanze: DASSO members urged on professionalism

The call was made during the meeting held on Tuesday and brought together members of DASSO in Musanze as well as their leadership at the national level, and local leaders.

The meeting aimed at emphasizing the concept of partnership with other institutions, looking at their welfare and discipline.

The vice mayor in charge of Finance and Economic Development, Augustin Ndabereye reminded them of their administrative security duties, and warned them against tarnishing their image through inappropriate behaviors.

The national coordinator of DASSO, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Charles Kayihura, who also attended the meeting, said: “Discipline, being exemplary and service delivery are essential to excel in your duties,” ACP Kayihura said.

He further challenged them to desist from acts of drunkenness and conniving with lawbreakers and be catalysts of community policing.

The meeting was also attended by Alexis Kayitare, DASSO Operation & Affairs Officer as well as Police officers and other local leaders.

Established by a May 10, 2013 law, Dasso is a district organ that has been mandated to support law enforcement in districts.

The law also tasks them to arrest any person involved in disruption of public order and hand them over to the Police; to inform an administration entity of any suspicious security threat and support the overall community policing philosophy, among others.
