Muhanga Parents Unhappy with Pay for Pupils Shoes

{{Parents in Muhanga district are not impressed by the new directives requiring them to pay for shoes donated to their school children.}}

They claim that earlier, they had been informed that primary school pupils and secondary school students in the area would benefit from a free donation of over 66,000 pairs of Shoes.

However, as it turnedout, every parent is required to pay between Frw400 and Frw500 per pair of shoes.

The school management says, pupils unable to pay would be paid for by the school admnistration.

However, during the handover of the shoes recently on May 15, every student was required to pay for a pair given. The event for the handover of shoes was held at Kabgayi B Primary School.

The parents have urged local authorities to always involve them while making decisions of public interest.

The Shoes were a donation from a US based shoe company TOMS SHOES.
