The high court threw out an appeal lodged by embattled genocide suspect Leon Mugesera whose appeal rejected two of the four judges handling his case.
Mugesera noted in his appeal that judges; Athanase Bakuzakundi and Eugene Ndagijimana were not competent to try him since they had earlier tried him in other cases that he lost at the end of April 2012.
Despite Mugesera’s appeal against competence of the two judges, Judge Alice Rulisa said his trial will start Thursday on 17th January 2013.
Mugesera was the vice chairman for genocidal political party, MRND before 1992 and is suspected to have been at the forefront of calling for the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi’s.
