{MTN Rwanda and Western Union have signed a mobile money transfer deal to enable Rwandans living abroad to send money directly to their relatives’ mobile phones. }
MTN Rwanda CEO Ebenezer Asante said this will significantly reduce the time used physically to go to Western Union branches to pick up cash.
Asante said ex-patriot Rwandans can remit money back home to MTN subscribers swiftly and with greater convenience, New Times reported. MTN currently has over 3 million mobile money customers.
