MTN Foundation donates Rwf 7 million to mentally challenged children

{MTN Foundation has donated Rwf 7 million to Autisme Rwanda as part of its commitment to sharing with communities the joy of Christmas. }

Autisme Rwanda is a company that looks after children with various mental health problems.

The support was handed to the management of Autisme Rwanda yesterday evening.

Umuhire Christiane Gender Mainstreaming and Gender Based Violence Officer at Ministry of Gender and Family Promotion (MIGEPROF) lauded MTN Foundation for the kind act.

“We appreciate this kind act of MTN and we will conduct more advocacies for these children of the country you are taking care of,” he said.

The president of Autisme Rwanda, Rosine Duquesne also thanked MTN Foundation and other supporters.

“We thank supporters like MTN and others though we still have more needs like boosting our capacity. We currently take care of 35 children in this institution yet there are more 80 children outside in Kigali who we could not receive because of resources challenges.,” she said.

The Chairperson MTN Foundation Rwanda, Ms. Mukarubega Zulfat said that the donation was part of its initiative to support government programs.

MTN Foundation has so far donated computers to 25 secondary schools and distributed solar energy to 460 households among other charitable acts.

Autisme Rwanda offices are located in Gisozi sector of Gasabo district.
