The Association of Motorists in Rusizi District, KOMOMARU, has promised to support Police in fighting crimes in the area.
The President of the Association, Manassé Mugirwanake, said members will always report cases of criminality such as drug abuse and theft or robbery.
The association made the vow to ACP Jean Baptiste Seminega, the regional police commander. He had delivered one million Francs as pledge made to them by the Inspector General of Police Emaneul K. Gasana.
The IGP visited the District last month as part of his countrywide visits to strengthen ties with local communities in forging efforts of fighting crimes around the country.
The President of the Association, Manassé Mugirwanake, promised to use the funds productively.
The Vice Mayor in Charge of Social Affairs in Rusizi District, Nirere Françoise, thanked the Police for supporting her districts through such initiatives. She believes the funds will help members of the Association invest in useful ventures.
