This is not a fiction or a story of the past but a reality of what happened on Tuesday, 18th Oct. 2014 in Rubavu District where a journalist of IGIHE, Thamimu Hakizimana gave a total of over Rwf 200,000 to Uwamahoro Joselyne, a widow carrying burdens from Rubavu to Goma in order to be able to feed her twin Babies.
Uwamahoro, 26, a resident of Kiruhura village, Cyanzarwe Cell in Rubavu District says “Good bye” to transporting heavy burdens after Good Samaritans read her suffering on IGIHE News site and later decide to collect money to lend a hand to this woman who had any other means to live on than carrying burdens from Rubavu to the nearing Eastern DRC’s city of Goma.
After this website wrote an article about her, many people called in to ask how they can contribute money to help Uwamahoro whose husband left her after he was told that his wife is pregnant with twin.
IGIHE has successfully collected about Rwf 230,000 from good Samaritans and hands them to Uwamahoro on Tuesday at her residence in Rubavu.
Meeting her, the mother of three was not aware of what is happening to her until this website’s reporter introduced himself so as to get to know each other.
She was later told that she is to get about Rwf 230,000 as the support from good people who have learned about her suffering.
The woman at that time lost mind after hearing about the donation.
In a thankful voice, the woman said “Glory be to God the King of the kings.”
The journalist told her that those who made their donation wished she ought to buy a mobile phone in order to keep in touch with them.
Uwamahoro immediately bought a phone and her number is now 0781696247 for more in touch.
She says “I am happy now. From Today I am a wealthy person. May God bless those who made their donations. They felt my pain and decide to support me. I am going to start a small business as well as to buy many other things including goats and take care of my three children”
Apart from Uwamahoro, neighbors also thank the support as a good step toward the wellbeing of this mother.
Dusengimana Moise says “We are very happy for this act because this woman was living a miserable life. I cannot express how gratitude is this!! None of us can even imagine how he managed to live in such conditions”
