Musanzeneza was a wife to Simpunga’s young brother. The three were murdered on November 9. They were all hit dead using a hoe.
The cause of the killing is believed to have been a result of family conflicts originating from land disputes between Simpunga and his younger brother.
It’s said that the purpose of coming to his younger brother’s house was to kill the latter as he had stabbed him last year over the same conflicting issue.
Simpunga was shortly released from Gitarama prison after having served his punishment.
He’s even one o the released genocide convicted by Gacaca courts.
Police also said the suspect is known to be a core criminal, who has been engaging in heat dispute with neighbours, and several time threatening to eliminate them over any subject.
The suspect is currently held at Gashali Police Station.
Western Region Police Spokesperson, Supt Mwiseneza Urbain, condemned the criminal act and warned the public to desist from concealing any domestic or family conflict which may end up in bloodshed and lost of lives.
