Minister Urges Christians to Be Role Models

{{The Minister of Local Government, Hon Kaboneka Francis, has urged christians to be role models, light and hope for Rwandan society.}}

The call was made yesterday in Kigali during the official launch of 4-day evangelistic Rwanda Harvest Crusade which was organized by the locally known PEACE Plan platform.

The Rwanda Harvest Crusade 2014 is led by the American evangelist Daniel Kolenda.

The Minister of Local Government, Hon Kaboneka Francis, expressed gratitude to Daniel Kolenda for preferring Rwanda to share the word of God with Rwandan people.

The Minister reiterated the Rwanda’s commitments in promoting freedoms of association and beliefs, and he noted that; religious organizations and churches enjoy full freedom in their activities.

As the Government promotes and protects their freedom and rights, the Minister said that; in return, the Government of Rwanda expects Christians to be good and exemplary citizens in their communities.

“Christians should be role models, light and hope for Rwandan society”, Minister Kaboneka said.

He called upon all Christians to embrace different social development government programmes including Ndi Umunyarwanda, Mutual Medical Insurance, Family planning among others.

Minister Kaboneka appealed to the churches in Rwanda to join Government efforts in fighting unemployment especially among the youth and women as well as fighting some challenges such as malnutrition, HIV- AIDS, prostitution and drugs abuses, among others.
