The Ministry of Health has been directed not to interfere with matters supposed to be handled by the ministry of Education.
This follows recent misunderstandings between the two ministries over the management of certain schools especially Medical schools.
Prime Minister Dr. Pierre Damien Habumuremyi emphasized that only the Ministry of Education has the obligation of dealing with education matters.
Dr. Habumuremyi counseled while presiding over the accountability day where he presented Government achievements, what is being done and future projections.
The misunderstandings between the two ministries arose after some schools were controlled by MINISANTE while others were under control by MINEDUC.
Government has hence directed MINISANTE to work together with MINEDUC by providing some guidelines showing how medical courses should be provided to students depending on what is needed to comply with Rwanda’s Health policy.
