{{In line with the promotion of Mining industry in Rwanda, the Government of Rwanda has extended mining license to 25 years from 5 years and that reform will benefit both Rwanda and investors.}}
The Public Sector Federation has been requesting such reform pointing out that 5 years of License were not enough for an investor to be able to benefit from the Mining Industry.
Miners have commended the move noting that they will be able to request banking loans of 7 years which, in former time, was impossible due to short term license.
Miners said to date they are working under Contracts of performance that will be based on working hard so as to register significant produce which will later contribute to the Economy’s growth.
Kalima Jean Malic of the Rwanda Mining Associations said that RMA has achieved its objective at 70% adding that the rest will be achieved.
