Following these scenarios, the Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Diane Gashumba has requested partners to provide a helping hand to address such matters affecting Rwandan community that are on raise.

She made the call yesterday in a meeting that brought together MIGEPROF and its partners that provide sponsorship; meant to seek a sustainable solution that addresses some of challenges affecting Rwandan community.

“We didn’t have a close communication with partners which would be a hindrance to identifying what is being done and areas where much concentration is needed. However, we are starting to approach them to identify what they are doing to help us address problems of Rwandan community, “said Gashumba.

She said that partners of MIGEPROF will provide permanent reports of their activities to avoid duplication of services that translate into inadequate performance.

Juste Kayihura, an official from Global Communities which supports poor families said that such meetings are a great milestone towards addressing challenges affecting Rwandan community.

“We have been supporting families at random but after this meet we will be working closely with MIGEPROF to improve the situation,” he said.

Though MIGEPROF has many challenges to address, the matter of street children is rampant and it was discussed during the recent leadership retreat held in Gabiro where President Paul Kagame said that no child should be wandering on streets since the government has all means to offer education opportunities to children.

He called on all stakeholders to address the matter of street children immediately.
