The deceased has been identified as Uwayo Christian who residents say might have been killed on Saturday at about 10PM.
His body was discovered Sunday morning by people residing near the trench.
Witnesses say Uwayo’s body had no injuries and according to area authorities, he was not involved in any dispute that could have bee suspect to have resulted into his murder.
Nkurunziza Idrissa the Executive Secretary of Gitega sector told IGIHE that the deceased had not complained of any illness before his death.
Police later retieved the body and have already launched further investigations to determine the cause of Uwayo’s mysterious death.
