Liberal Party commits to efficiency

{The Liberal Party (PL), one of Rwanda’s active political parties has announced that the situation is normal among its members after the former leader; Protais Mitali fled the country in March, 2015 after misallocating its wealth worth Rwf 50 million.}

PL says it has now taken serious measures to address crisis that resulted from mismanagement.

The Acting president of PL, Mukabalisa Donatille has said that such misallocation left a big lesson adding that the current situation is normal. She revealed this yesterday during the meeting of PL.

“The situation is good compared to the past where the management committee misappropriated the funds. We have drafted a plan indicating how the funds must be managed and required performance of PL agreed upon during the national assembly of the party,” she said.

Mukabalisa said that such measures were implemented as a way of avoiding past poor performance experiences. The funds to be managed include contributions from members of the political party and donations from sponsors.

Mitali Protais fled at the beginning of March, 2015 with Rwf 50 million after one year working as Rwanda’s ambassador in Ethiopia. He was the president of PL since August 2007 till March, 2015.
