Kizito Mihigo & Co-Accused to Appear in Court

{Musician Kizito Mihigo and accomplices allegedly plotted to harm government leaders}

{{Musician Kizito Mihigo and co-accused are expected to appear in court Monday April 21st, to answer charges of planning to attack government leaders, launching grenade attacks and toppling government.}}

The suspects including Radio journalist Cassien Ntamuhanga, former soldier Jean Paul Dukuzumuremyi and Agnes Niyibizi were arrested last week and publicly admitted to collaborating with RNC and FDLR rebels and were planning to destabilise the country and attack the country’s leaders in revenge for the assassination of Patrick Karegeya.

The Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), a rebel group based inside DRCongo is made up of remnants of the Interahamwe militia that carried out the 1994 genocide against Tutsis that claimed a million lives.

Rwanda National Congress RNC is a South Africa-based exiled opposition group.

Accoding to Rwanda National Police CID’s ACP Theos Badege once the suspects are found guilty, they risk imprisonment of sentences ranging between 15 and 25 years.
