Kinazi youth urged on fighting genocide ideology

{Rwandan youth have been urged to embrace the culture of doing good deeds avoiding genocide ideology and resisting people who want to spread it. }

The call was made during the commemoration of 1994 genocide against Tutsi held in Kinazi sector of Huye district yesterday.

Honorable Jacqueline Mukakanyamugenge, who was the guest of honor during the commemoration event, asked parents to keep away from misinterpreting history since it harms the future of the country.

“Elders, help us to teach the truth to the young generation. For youth whose parents are jailed, let them know the truth other than telling lies .Let’s work together for proper upbringing of the youth aware of the true history of our nation,” she said.

Some of youth who attended commemoration activities in Kinazi sector said that knowing the truth would contribute a lot to shaping understanding and tackling genocide ideology.They decried parents who want to misinterpret genocide history.

“Some of our parents committed offenses but I want them to be converted people and join efforts in building a peaceful country. Those who still sow hatred among their children should stop it since it destroys other than building,” said one of the youth who attended commemoration event in Kinazi sector.

During this event 24 recently found bodies of Tutsi victims of 1994 genocide were accorded decent burial and are added to more than 43,000 genocide victims buried at Kinazi memorial.
