Kigali: Cleaner drowns in fuel tank

A dead body of one Nyandwi Jean Claude, 32, resident of Bibare cell, Kimironko sector was, Wednesday morning, found drowned in a fuel tank at the Petroleum Station of MT MERU (Kwa Mushimire) where he has been working as a cleaner.

The spokesperson of Rwanda National Police, in City of Kigali city, Supt Mbabazi Modeste told IGIHE that the manager of MET MERU petroleum station was the first to see Nyandwi’s body after looking about for him for a while .The manager found some of Nyandwi’s cleaning equipment around the station but could not immediately establish the cause of death, but investigations are underway.

The manager of MET MERU petroleum station told journalists that he doesn’t know how the deceased got into the tank because he left him closing the tank.
“I left him locking up the tank after pouring in fuel. When I returned in the morning, we found him drowned in the tank,” he said.
