This took place on Saturday, last week as they cleaned the area around Nyanza memorial site prior to the 25th anniversary of the 1994 genocide against Tutsi.
After communal work, KBS Ltd offered Health Insurance Cards (Mutuelle de Santé) to 300 people living in Rukatsa cell while some other 300 were given Tap&Go cards with an amount of Rwf1000.
“Working together with the society in communal work is a way of appreciating and sensitizing people to continue using KBS (Kigali Bus Services),” says Boniface Mutua, Kigali Bus Services (KBS) General Manager.
“We cut the grass around Nyanza Memorial site and supported 300 poor people with Mutuelle and other 300 with Tap&Go cards.” He added
Mutua also promised that such deeds will continue to even other sectors of the country.
The Executive Secretary of Kagarama sector, Kanyesigye Nathan appreciated KBS Ltd for the good work they had done during the communal work.
“It’s a pleasure to our sector that KBS Ltd chose to join us on this day and we are really glad because of their help in cleaning the memorial site. We also asked them to come back and join us in the 25th genocide commemoration.” Kanyesigye observed
The Finance Director at KBS Ltd, Nadine Uwamahoro said that they are aiming to make it easy for the people who access the Kigali Bus Services.
“We have offered these Tap&Go cards because we would wish for every person who uses our cards to have one and it’s a big honor to us because this meets with our aim of offering proper services to the people,” says Uwamahoro.
