Kamonyi Women Groups Get 426 Rabbits

{{Ten years after the establishment of the national Women’s council, a lot has been achieved by Rwandan women in terms of development.}}

In light of the above, the Executive secretary of Southern Province, Jeanne Izabiriza toured kokobe village at Bitare Cell in Karama sector Kamonyi district aimed at assessing the level of development women have achieved in the area.

During the tour, a house was built in Kokobe cell for one of the families that were recently deported from Tanzania.

Also development partners including MEDICUS MUNDI provided 426 rabbits that will be shared among widows and a group of over seventy women in all sectors in the province where MEDICUS MUNDI operates.

Uwera Marie Alice on behalf of Kamonyi district cautioned Karama sector residents against any forms of Domestic violence but work hard for positive transformation of their families.

Laurence Mukakalisa a resident of Karama involved with rearing goats and macadamia farming, attributed women’s achievements to good governance in all structures of government and pro women development policies.
