Kamonyi District has urged Miners to adhere to mining rules especially avoiding inappropriate mining, employing children, ensuring safety of workers and minimizing negative impacts that mining cause to the environment.

Uwineza Claudine, the vice Mayor in charge of Economics and development in Kamonyi District told miners that effective work leads to sustainable development of the country.
She said that miners should adhere to laws governing mining sector and should contribute their ideas on how mining sector can be sustained in Rwanda as well as in the region.
She urged miners to ensure that mining activities are not negatively affecting welfare of local residents.
Owners of mining sites were also urged to pay insurance for their small workers.
Musabyimana Viateur, the manager of ESTRA Ltd operating in Rugalika sector said they will comply with advice provided to them and avoid everything that could bring chaos in the mining Industry.
