{President Paul Kagame and his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta yesterday held talks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on the sidelines of the 26th African Union Summit and committed to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.}
Through his twitter account, President Kenyatta said ‘I have this morning held talks with president Kagame to further strengthen Kenya –Rwanda relations.”
Rwanda has been cooperating with Kenya over the past years where both countries have collaborated in education sector, agriculture, technology, justice, leadership and military activities.
Commerce and investments have improved between Rwanda and Kenya since Rwanda became member of the East African Community in 2009. Many commercial institutions and banks from Kenya have opened shop in Rwanda including Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Equity Bank, I&M Bank, Nakumatt Supermarket and Universities like Mount Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta University and Kenya Institute of Management.
Bank of Kigali is among Rwandan institutions that has opened doors in Kenya where it has a branch in Nairobi.
Statistics indicate that in September, 2014 around 1 302 institutions from Kenya had already been registered in Rwanda.
