Kagame Hits Back at Kikwete

{{President Paul Kagame has today condemned suggestions that Rwanda should negotiate with the Hutu extremist- FDLR .}}

The suggestions that spread like wild fire in several regional media outlets were made by Tanzanian president Jakaya Kikwete.

Kikwete had origianally stated..“ADF is attacking Uganda and FDRL is doing the same to Rwanda so efforts should be made to end such attacks.”

“Talks should be held between governments and rebels hiding in the DRC where they launch attacks against their countries of origin. Military operations against the rebels will not yield fruit”.

President Kagame described the utterances as nonsense by Mr. Kiwete as dancing on the “mass graves of our people.”

In response to Mr. Kikwete’s remarks, President Kagame said, “I kept quiet for the contempt I have for it (FDLR talks) because I thought it was utter nonsense spoken out of ignorance. We must be left to live our lives the way Rwandans want to live them.”

He added, “RPF did not seek revenge when it had every reason to be tempted…I don’t think anybody should be having issues with us.”

President Kagame was today officiating at a graduation ceremony held at the Rwanda Defence Forces Staff and Command College in Musanze district.

Only 42 students graduated at the college.
