Residents of jali suburb of Kigali have been urged to strengthen banana farming in the area since the area soils are friendly to the banana plants.
The call was made by Mayor of Gasabo District during the community work held in Jari sector, Nyakabungo cell, Gitaba village where citizens were planting maize seedlings.
The said community work marked the introduction of the 2013 annual agriculture season in the district of Gasabo.
Ndizeye explained the role of banana farming showcasing the fact that banana are among the drivers of national economic transformation adding that the desired harvest can be sold on national and international market.
Speaking to IGIHE, Shumbusho Védaste, the in charge of Agriculture and animal husbandry in Jari sector said citizens are ready to start cultivating since they have already prepared their seedlings.
