Indonesian Officials express willingness to learn from Rwanda as Kagame visits Jakarta

{Indonesian Officials have told President Paul Kagame that they want to learn from Rwanda how to resolve conflicts, IGIHE has learned on Friday morning as Indonesians News sites were reporting on Kagame’s visit in Jakarta.}

The willingness to learn from Rwanda was revealed in Jakarta on Friday, 31 Oct 2014, after a meeting with the President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame and Vice President Jusuf Kalla who praised how Rwanda resolve conflicts in the region.

“Rwanda was famous because of the conflict, but it stopped them well,” JK said after a meeting at the Office of the Vice President, the Palace Complex, Jalan Merdeka Utara in Central Jakarta on Friday

Therefore, said JK, Indonesia can learn how to resolve conflicts as did the Republic of Rwanda. Not only resolve conflicts, adds JK, Republic of Rwanda also made improvements in some areas after the conflict. “We can also learn how to solve the conflict and making progress after that,” said JK.

For that reason, JK reveals how important it is to establish good relations with neighboring countries as well as countries from the eastern parts of Africa.

Previously, Paul Kagame admitted that one purpose of his visit to Indonesia is to meet with the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Moreover, he added, the first visit to Indonesia also is to bring a plan to boost the bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, culture and education.
