They did this as they joined Rwandans in the monthly community work, Umuganda, in Mageragere Sector of Nyarugenge District, Kigali City.
Over ten thousand trees were planted including fruit trees and other species.
Speaking to IGIHE, the Bank of Africa’s Representative in Rwanda, Abderrahmane Belbachir said that the Bank has committed itself to the construction of the primary school and to provide all necessary materials.
Addressing participants, the Director General of Imbuto Foundation, Sandrine Umutoni said: “We are pleased to be here with you today, to continue from where we started on the important journey to ensure that children in Rwanda have access to quality education and relevant services.’’
According to the Director General of Imbuto Foundation, Sandrine Umutoni, Nyarurenzi Primary School will be equipped with laboratories, computer rooms, a library, and sports grounds. The school will pioneer with 240 students.
“At Imbuto Foundation, we envision a Rwanda where children grow into healthy, confident and successful adults, and have put tremendous efforts into conceptualizing and implementing impactful projects, and nurturing partnerships, that can ensure the realization of our vision.”
“Our partnership and your support in constructing this school facility reflect your will to improve the lives of children across the continent. We are grateful that many Rwandan children and parents, will be able to benefit from this. In this regard, on behalf of Imbuto Foundation, allow me to express my appreciation and assure you of our continued collaboration,” she noted.
The Umuganda activities carried out at Nyarurenzi, Mageragere Sector are valued at Rwf7 million.
Bank of Africa has branches in 18 African countries affiliated to the Moroccan Commercial Bank, BMCE Bank.
Bank of Africa in Rwanda, itself, began operations in Rwanda in October 2015 after acquiring AGASEKE Bank which had been operating in Rwanda since November 2003. Agaseke Bank then had total assets worth $14 million, 13 branches and over 100 staffs.
