{Secondary school students under the support of Imbuto Foundation, gathered in the 8th edition Holiday Retreat-an annual activity, have been urged to embrace knowledge and skills that can positively impact their lives, communities and the entire nation.}
During a talk held at the end of students’ community work yesterday, Huye Vice-Mayor Finance And Economic Development, Cyprien Mutwarasibo, told students that the country has availed to them many opportunities including access to education which they must use to change their country.
“Your good performance must reflect your good thoughts and understanding. Your performance must target better changes for the country and expect to find solutions in whatever challenges you may face,” he said.
Cyprien said that bad actions negatively affect big numbers of people, as good deeds influence livelihoods for the better.
Iradukunda Marie Merci, one of the students, said that she was hopeless when she started her education journey but was uplifted, encouraged and molded into a great personality with strong character under the auspices of Imbuto Foundation that has supported her education.
“Imbuto Foundation lit my hopelessness into a glittering ray of hope. I promise to support some of the children to access vocational training and education. I also plan to instill, in others, a sense of saving so they can build the trait of self development,” she said.
The Imbuto Director of Finance and Welfare, Ingabire Assoumpta, said that the Foundation aims at equipping students with personal and soft skills not offered in conventional schools. “We organize talks, build their knowledge and polish their characters to become objective students, disciplined learners and accomplished citizens.”
The retreat being held at the 8th edition has started in 2008 .730 children from various parts of the country have are gathered in the current Imbuto Foundation camp. They have been trained on creation of jobs , Rwanda’s history as well as humans reproduction.
