{{The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Rwanda, Soontaik Hwang, has said Hyundai automobile company is expected to open a show room in Rwanda in May.}}
It is just six months ago since the Korean Ambassador to Rwanda took residence in Kigali.
Hwang says the Hyundai show room will be operated by an individual dealer who has an agreement with the company.
“I believe this is a very good sign that may lead to the direct presence of Hyndai itself in Rwanda because the showroom will present an opportunity for the country to woo the company to directly invest here, not in the short term, but in the long term,”said Hwang.
Speaking to a local daily, the South Korean envoy explained that Rwanda is a small market for the manufacturing sector but most interest into this market is picked by the service sector companies in south Korea, in areas like ICT development, where Rwanda is developing at a tremendous speed with good governance and sustained development pace.
The envoy added that Rwanda’s geographical central location, could be a good hub for South Korean companies to establish a presence within east and central Africa.
