Huye residents attribute poor hygiene to poverty

{Gloriose Uwanyirigira, a parliamentarian, has called on Huye sector residents in Huye district to observe high standards of hygiene and sanitation using the resources at their disposal to avoid unnecessary diseases related to poor hygiene. }

She made the call during the recent community works after realizing how residents attribute poor sanitation to poverty, as, they claim, are unable to buy soap and other basic household needs.

“Poor sanitation affect you and your children in many ways; diseases, your children will be slow in class because of poor health. It is sad that some adults go to bed without bathing, increasing health risks.

This should be completely changed,” she advised.

She informed the residents that observing good practices of sanitation and hygiene does not require huge sums of money but awareness and commitment.
