{Hope Academy Rwanda students won Gold at InfoMatrix Romania with a stop-motion animation called ‘Frozen Dreams’.}
Beating off 387 projects from 51 countries, Grade 9 and 10 students Mehmet Fatih Kilic and Muhammed Ali Zengin, came top of the Computer Art category.
The animation showed a girl going about his daily business with his unusually lifeless parents until it is revealed at the end that the parents had in fact died years ago and it’s his memories of them that keep him company. The poignant story of coping with loss of loves ones struck a chord with the judging committee and awarded the heartfelt tale the top prize. Lumina University – which organises InfoMatrix – has offered the students a full scholarship if they wish to study there after completing their school studies.
Congratulations to Muhammed, Fatih, and their supervisor Royal Qasimov for their success after dedication. There were several hiccups on the path to success, but the team overcame each one with humility and perseverance. The entire Hope Academy Rwanda family is proud of you.
Hope Academy Rwanda students are due to compete at GENIUS USA in June and we hope to be able to announce more prize-winning success when the results are revealed.
