With a production of more than 200 kilos of sausages per week, which he distributes to 60 supermarkets around Kigali, Hervé strives to become the biggest supplier of sausages and other meat products in East Africa.
Winning the REAL Fina Bank Entrepreneurship Award meant Hervé and his business received 4 million Rwf cash prize, an airline ticket to take his business out to the world, free mentorship and training, and of course, the confidence in knowing that his business is among the strongest start-ups in the country.
Hervé decided to go into the meat processing business when he discovered a big gap in the Rwandan market; he realised that raising pigs and selling their meat is a business concept with big potential.
Together with his partner and managing director, Alphonse Muvara, Hervé is determined to keep moving the business forward by improving and renewing their products through trainings, courses and networking.
“We want to increase and promote local products. We want to show that Rwandese products can compete on the international market”, Hervé Tuyishime explains.
Last year, the Entrepreneurship Award helped Hervé grow his business.
Now the Educat- GT Bank Entrepreneurship Award is open to other entrepreneurs with even more prizes: 11 million francs in cash prizes, KLM flight tickets, 1 month free advertising on IGIHE.com as well as opportunities for mentoring and training.
