{Prime Minister, Hon Anastase Murekezi has yesterday launched a Heroes week to mark activities leading to Heroes Day celebrations due on 1 February 2016.}
The Hon Prime Minister opened Heroes Week activities with a march that started from KBC Kimihurura to Petit Stade, at Amahoro Stadium. The march was attended by Government high officials including Ministers, employees from Ministries and other Public institutions, Security Organs, Civil Society and local citizens.
Hon Prime Minister Murekezi said that celebrating Heroes ’actions is a good way of learning from their good actions. “Commemorating the Heroes’day is a better way of reminding the youth to always strive for heroism and own that culture” he said. Hon Murekezi called Rwandans to emulate values such as patriotism, integrity, sacrifice, humanity, love for work, accountability that have characterized Rwandan heroes.
Minister of Sports and Culture, Hon Uwayo Julienne said that many activities such as lecture sessions in Schools and other places are on schedule during Heroes Week that will culminate on Heroes Day on 1 February 2016 to be celebrated in all villages across the country.
